Animation Video – 5 Little Ducks

Quick Songs & Stories Video Series

Connecting with children of different age groups through simple storytelling, language, music and movement requires educators to use different mediums, verbal and non verbal cues and often props that will help children become interactive and engaged participants.

Although reading a story together is always fun - sometimes we have to try something different, especially when we find ourselves having to engage and connect with children through online or virtual resources. You can create simple animated videos like this to share your songs and stories with children even if they can't be in the room with you.

Watch my '5 Little Ducks' with your children and think about what stories or songs you might like to create as a video yourself. Ask the children what song they would like to 'see' and hear then get ready to try something new!

Storytime Online

Ready to join me for an online storytime?  In each video I read one of my favourite stories directly to the children. You can join in and read along or just press play and share with your children.

Through these storytime videos I also aim to give you as an educator an insight into different ways to use tone, pitch, anticipation and exaggerated enthusiasm to keep young children engaged and interacting through the wonder of language and storytelling.
